In 1984, Tim Nay was offered an exciting opportunity when he was asked to join
the Family Support Project of the Neurological Sciences Center at Good Samaritan
Hospital. The Center had recently received a grant from Fred Meyer Corporation,
and one of its goals was to develop the concept of Elder Law in the Northwest
and beyond.
As a result, the National Academy of Elder Law
Attorneys (NAELA) was formed. Tim was a founding member and its
first president.
Tim continued his quest to assist seniors with
their legal issues, and today, Nay & Friedenberg is one of the
most highly regarded firms in the field of Elder Law in the United
States.
As we worked with elders, it soon became clear
that decisions made earlier in life profoundly affect the way things
played out over the years. We have gradually expanded our areas
of expertise, so that today Nay & Friedenberg is prepared to help
people at all stages of life and in all kinds of relationships
plan for their futures.

The difference is personalized service. For example, many attorneys
offer living trusts as a planning option, but not many law offices
go as far as to actually handle the transfer of assets into the
trust. Transfers are a critical and essential component of setting
up a living trust. Nay & Friedenberg has a full time staff
member specifically trained to transfer assets in a timely and
efficient manner. The overall process time is kept to a minimum,
and you avoid the complications of relying on numerous financial
entities to correctly transfer your assets to your trust. We
go the extra mile when setting up a living trust for our clients.
Because of our personalized service and willingness
to go the extra mile, our clients feel like part of our family.
We are now seeing the children and grandchildren of those families
we saw back in the early 80s. Because of our longevity in
Elder Law, we have a distinct advantage of knowing the family history
of many of our clients.
We were there at the advent of Elder Law and
we remain focused on this area of specialty today. Our goal is
to serve you, your children and grandchildren in the generations
to come. Planning for your family tree.
